The Epilepsy Consortium Scotland provides the secretariat to the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Epilepsy. The next meeting, also the Group’s AGM, will be held on 7th September 2017.
In January 2017, Daisy Garland dieticians from children’s hospitals in Edinburgh and Glasgow gave a presentation about treating epilepsy with ketogenic diets and the services currently offered in Scotland. In April 2017, Aileen Campbell MSP, Minister for Public Health and Sport attended to address the Group and to answer questions on epilepsy care in Scotland. It was a successful meeting and in particular some progress was made around plans to improve access to neurophysiology services.
