Sam Whitmore (ex Chairperson)

Sam Whitmore has worked in the field of epilepsy since 2001, employed by Epilepsy Connections initially to develop and run a befriending service for adults and subsequently in service development and delivery, training, service user engagement and management roles.
Sam has been an active member of the Epilepsy Consortium Scotland (ECS) since its inception in 2011 during which time he has been a regular attendee at meetings and has supported various initiatives i.e. Pathway exercise, web-site development, resource audit, CPG sub-group.
His work with Epilepsy Connections has offered opportunities to attend international epilepsy conferences in Malta, France, and the U.K., to deliver a podium presentation to delegates at the European Conference on Epilepsy and Society in Portugal, to represent JEC, ECS, and Epilepsy Connections at various political conferences in Scotland and attend Cross Party Group meetings at Holyrood.
Out with Epilepsy Connections Sam’s previous employment includes working with aid agencies in Bangladesh and Ecuador and his hobbies include cycling, managing an allotment, keeping bees and ornithology
